As
usual, Imperial College of Business Studies has taken
a step forward and is among one of the first institutions
to do something in corporate social responsibility,
an issue that cannot be left to leading multinationals
and local corporations alone, an area, where each one
of us, being a privileged member of the society must
participate.
Leadership
and Community Development (LCD) program is more than
a creative endeavor, it has a solid function and strong
cause. It aims to produce sensitive and responsible
young men and women by combining the concepts of ‘doing
well’ with ‘doing good’. It intends
to bind the local community and campus in an eternal
relationship by providing economic, social, emotional
and intellectual assistance to as many people as possible.
The
mission of LCD is to prepare the students to become
productive and contributing members of society by getting
involved, finding what is happening in the community
and ‘MAKING a DIFFERENCE’.
LCD
was in incubation since the beginning of this year,
but its pioneering project (ComAid) was floated in Summer
2003. Some of the projects designed by students include: |
