The
Center for Business and Economic Research is an academic research wing
of the Imperial College of Business Studies (ICBS). The main purpose of
establishing CBER is to encourage students and the faculty to contribute
in the promotion of research culture and to enhance the quality and contents
of the academic programs offered by the ICBS. We are of the strong opinion
that research culture is a must for academic institutions to enhance all
aspects of undergraduate and graduate teaching and learning. It facilitates
transfer of knowledge and knowledge transfer brings in innovations and
dynamism in approaches to teaching.
The CBER
is actively involved in providing assistance to students desirous of undertaking
research assignments for the partial fulfilment of the requirements for
the MBA/EMBA degree programs. It is on the agenda of CBER to hold discussion
panels, seminars, learning sessions and run lecture series, and workshop
forums from time to time. In all such academic gatherings, CBER invites
its own students, alumni, faculty, scholars and professionals from all
around to promote knowledge and understanding on the key issues facing
the society.
The CBER
has its own CBER Research Fund (CRF) to provide financial support for
taking care of all the functional and promotional responsibilities of
CBER.
The Rector
is the Chairman of the CBER, while the functional and administrative responsibilities
are handled by the Dean of ICBS.
